Our fees

Our experience shows that most clients appreciate an explanation as to fees and associated matters as early as possible in a transaction. For this reason, we will tailor our invoices and breakdowns to suit the needs and requirements of our clients.

Our charges are normally calculated by reference to time spent dealing with a matter. This will include not only the time spent giving advice, but also time spent in meetings with you and others involved with the transaction, drafting and commenting on documents and generally dealing with papers and correspondence.

Our hourly rates vary according to seniority and length of qualification of the fee earner concerned. We would be happy to provide you with our hourly rates upon request.

We should add that we endeavour to record time conservatively. We charge only for the time necessarily and actually spent on your matter. In addition, although work is frequently required to be done outside normal office hours - in the evenings or at weekends - we generally make no additional charge for these "non-social" hours (except in relation to overtime paid to secretaries or other support staff).

Our hourly rates are subject to periodic reviews, normally annually. Any change in rates will be discussed with you prior to their implementation.

In addition to the hourly rates, we can develop other financial arrangements such as estimated fees, fixed fees or caps. An estimate can be given based on a broad assessment of the time we believe would be appropriate to carry out the assignment. Some types of assignments lend themselves to a cap or fixed fee structure and many clients require such an arrangement. When the team and the amount of time we will spend can be fixed with a client in advance, we are happy, at your specific request, to develop special fee arrangements.
